SST Express Subscribers have the option to save specific coordinates for easy regular access.

SST Express Subscribers save time by being shown only thumbnails over their area of interest and are able to go straight to the data they need, processed they way they select, thus taking a short-cut past the locating and processing data stage of the process.

5.1 Becoming an SST Express Subscriber

If you are not yet a subscriber, follow the instructions in Section 1: Getting Access, and select the appropriate SST Express option. If you are already a SST Standard subscriber, and wish to upgrade to SST Express contact Earthinsite.com Pty Ltd.

5.2 Setting Coordinates and Viewing Options

Step 1: Once your payment has been approved and you receive a Tax Invoice/ Receipt click on the Set Xpress Limits button.

Step 2: On the map of Australia draw a box using your mouse covering the area that you always wish to see the Sea Surface Data. Please note that you can change this area at anytime. You can use the coordinates of the upper-left and lower-right co-ordinates of the area displayed along the bottom of the map to help you select your area. If you make a mistake and wish to change the box click on the Delete Box button.

Step 3: Click on the Set Xpress Limits Button. If you wish to reset the limits at this point click on the Clear Xpress Limits button. Your previous area will be removed and you can start again.

Step 4: At this point, also select if you want your image colour optimised or enhanced (see Section 3.1 Viewing Your Data for examples). Please note that these options can be changed at any time when you log in. If you are accessing data using either an old style mobile or satellite phone as a modem you can click on Quick Look, and a resampled data set will be used that will save you time and money. Do not use this option if you are using a modern wireless broadband card in a laptop.

Step 5: Click on Finish button. You will now be taken back to the SST Mapper View Data Sets window and you will only see the data sets covering your selected area of interest.

Step 6: Now select a data set by clicking on a thumbnail image with cloud free data that covers your area of interest. You then be taken to a Receipt page and your account will be debited one use. Click on the Sea Temperature or Sea Colour button and your area of interest will be generated from the thumbnail you selected. If you select a thumbnail not covering your area of interest the image you see at this point in time will be all green as there is no data.

You can refine your area of interest at this point by drawing a box using the mouse and clicking on the Zoom Into Selected Area button or you can use the zoom or pan buttoms until you have the exact new area that you want. Then click on the Set Xpress Limits button. This will override your previous setting and now each time you select a data set from the thumbnails covering your area your refined area will appear.

5.3 Changing Coordinates

Step 1: Click on the Clear Xpress Limits button.

Fig 16

Step 2: Click on the Back to Dataset Index tab at the top left of the screen (see fig 16).

Select a thumbnail over your area, draw a box using the mouse and click on Set Xpress Limits button.

You can now click on Zoom into Selected Area button or return to the thumbnails by clicking on the Back to Dataset Index tab and selecting a thumbnail. Your express area image will be generated. Everytime you log on you will only see data sets over your area of interest and when you select a thumbnail your express area image will be generated.

You can change these coordinates and your other options at any time when you log in.

You will now be taken to a screen showing you all the data sets that are available for the date you have selected and only over your area of interest. When you select the appropriate cloud free data set you will be taken straight into the SST Mapper showing the specific area you have set above and processed the way you selected.
