8. Display, Add and Edit GPS Marks


8.2 Add GPS Marks

Step 1: To add marks to the database and your image (only available to registered users) click on the green Add/Edit GPS Marks button to the left of the image. (See Fig 18 in Display Marks & Mark Details section to the left) The GPS Marks Management table will open up (See Fig 20 below)

Step 2: To add a new mark click on the Add New Marks button (See Fig 20 above). A new Add GPS Marks table will open as in Fig 21 below. Enter the mark details such as name, geographical coordinates and any comments that you wish. Please note that when entering the geographical coordinates you can enter degrees, minutes and seconds or any combination of decimal degrees or decimal seconds. The system will automatically calculate the correct values for the display. Once you have entered all your information you then need to click on the Proceed button.

Your mark will by default be added as a Private mark and only visible to you each time you log-in. If you chose to make the mark Public then the mark will be visible to all users and Earthinsite reserves the right to edit or delete these marks if it considers them inaccurate or inappropriate.

Step 3: Once you have entered all the required details click on the Proceed button. You will then be presented with a Success screen as in Fig 22 below. Click on the Add Another button if you wish to add another mark or click on the Back to List button to return to the list to see all the marks you have added.
